Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, applying, and finishing paint on interior and exterior surfaces across a variety of construction projects. Your expertise in surface preparation, color matching, and application techniques will ensure high-quality finishes that meet both client expectations and industry standards. This position is ideal for a motivated professional with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in painting and finishing, who takes pride in craftsmanship and safety. As a key contributor to project timelines and aesthetic outcomes, your work will directly impact the quality and durability of completed builds. This is a full-time opportunity offering competitive compensation of AU$5,000–7,000 per month, with potential for growth within a reputable construction firm committed to excellence and employee development.
Responsibilities
: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, priming, and repairing defects such as cracks, holes, or peeling paint. Select appropriate paints, coatings, and tools based on surface type, environmental conditions, and project specifications. Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other tools to achieve smooth, even finishes. Ensure color accuracy and consistency across large or complex surfaces through proper mixing and testing. Work efficiently on-site, adhering to project schedules while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection when working at heights. Collaborate with supervisors, construction crews, and other trades to coordinate painting schedules and resolve technical issues. Document work completed and report any material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns promptly. Maintain and clean tools and equipment after each use to ensure longevity and performance.Requirements
Requirements
: 1–3 years of proven experience in commercial or residential construction painting. Demonstrated proficiency in surface preparation, paint application techniques, and finishing. Knowledge of different paint types (e.g., latex, oil-based, epoxy, and specialty coatings) and their appropriate uses. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, paint specifications, and project plans. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, durable finishes. Physical stamina to work in various weather conditions and on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites. Completion of relevant trade certification or apprenticeship in painting and decorating (preferred). Familiarity with WHS (Work Health and Safety) regulations and safe work practices on construction sites.Benefits
Competitive Base Salary: AU$85,000 base salary per year (commensurate with experience) with additional overtime allowances where applicable. Superannuation: Full 11.5% Australian Superannuation guarantee contributions paid on top of base salary. Leave Entitlements: 4 weeks of paid annual leave, paid personal/carer's leave, and full public holiday pay under the National Employment Standards (NES). Tools & Gear Allowance: Annual tool allowance, full provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and high-visibility workwear provided. Travel & Vehicle Allowance: Travel allowance or access to a company work vehicle/fuel card for travel between job sites.
